Introduction
BigMIND employs an advanced internal compression engine as part of its backup process, designed to expedite uploads and optimize connection bandwidth utilization.
How It Works
Our compression technology operates by compressing non-compressed files internally before transmitting them to the Cloud. Upon upload, BigMIND decompresses these files server-side, ensuring they are stored in their original format and accessible via the web console.
BigMIND utilizes the Zip (Deflate64) compression method, achieving an average compression ratio of 40-50% for most file types. However, the compression efficiency can vary depending on the file type; certain files, such as already compressed executable binaries, may only achieve a compression ratio of 10-20%.
Files like videos and music, which are typically already compressed, undergo no additional compression during upload using our technology.
