Introduction
BigMIND is a cloud-based backup service. When you back up files using BigMIND, all backed-up data is stored in the cloud, ensuring that your files are preserved even if the originals are lost or damaged locally. To manage storage space or remove unwanted content, BigMIND also allows you to permanently delete specific files or folders from your cloud backup. Deleting them frees up cloud storage; however, unless you modify those files from your local device, they will not be re-uploaded automatically.

Delete Data from BigMIND Web Console
When you delete files from your backup, they will not be automatically backed up again unless the original files are modified on the local drive where they are stored.
- Sign in to your BigMIND web console.
- From the left-side menu, select Discover.
- From the left-side panel of the Discover data page, choose the machine that contains the file(s)/folders(s) you want to delete, by clicking on its name.
- Select the desired files or folders and click the Delete
icon. A request will be processed by a specialized data deletion service. The data will be deleted over time, freeing up storage, and moved to the Trash folder. You have 30 days to undo the deletion if needed.
Delete Data via BigMIND Mobile App
The BigMIND mobile application (Android and iOS) provides an easy way to manage and delete unwanted files from the backup, directly from your smartphone.
- Open the BigMIND mobile app and make sure you are logged in to the account where the target files are backed up.
- Refer to the Discover screen, where all backed-up files are displayed by default.
- Select the file(s) that you want to delete by long-pressing on it(them), and tap the Delete icon.
Use the Filter option to create a custom view for certain file types (photos, music files, etc). This simplifies the process of finding unwanted files.
